For at least the sixth time in the past ten years, a state of emergency exists at Attawapiskat, a 2000 person settlement along the West Shore of James Bay. These various emergencies pop into public consciousness for scant days periodically and then are quietly brushed aside by Ontraio’s provincial government by way of an unholy alliance with a Federal Department that (apparently) has been “trusted” to act as fiduciary guardians of a multi-billion dollar in mineral resources (in this case, the world’s largest diamond mine).
